The Kingston Black apple is thought to be named after the village of Kingston, mid-Somerset and produces the perfect bitter-sharp juice for delectable single-variety cyder. Indeed, it’s considered by some to be the ‘King of Cyder Apples’. The juice is first cold-fermented until nearly dry, creating a floral, yet strong and flavoursome cyder with floral notes.
The Newt Kingston Black 2019 is gluten free and vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Light amber in colour and with its aromas of sweet candy, baked apple, and “baking cakes”, this is nevertheless a dry, lightly astringent and refreshing cyder that combines notes of citrus and lemon with caramel.
Excellent with hard cheeses such as Cheddar (Westcombe Cheddar is a great example).
