ENGLISH WINE PROJECT KING & QUEEN OF THE ORCHARD CIDERS
AN IDEAL CELEBRATION OF THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE
BRITISH WINES MADE FROM APPLES – HELPING MAKE BRITISH CIDERS GREAT AGAIN!

Ciders, perries and fruit wines are the essence of nature, transformed by the natural process of fermentation, and enhanced by human intervention.
The English Wine Project is an award-winning drinks producer which champions the UK wine and cider industries. Founded on a belief in our British heritage and that cider should be produced with 100% apples and treated with as much thought and care as wine. This approach means minimal intervention with the aim of delivering the orchard’s terroir into the bottle, reflecting the apple varieties used, so the consumer tastes cider as it should be – unadulterated and true to its roots.
Tasting Notes
King of the Orchard
Made from 75% Dabinett and 25% Spartan apples fermented and matured in bourbon barrels and then put into bottle unfiltered for a secondary fermentation. After ageing on the lees the cider is riddled and disgorged with no dosage added before closing with cork and wine which maintains its overall dry characteristics with a bourbon, cooked apple aroma and taste.
Queen Of The Orchard
Made from 75% Spartan and 75% Dabinett cider apples, fermented and matured in French Burgundian oak using a minimalist winemaker approach. The process uses champagne yeasts and the cider undergoes full malolactic fermentation in barrel with a secondary fermentation in the bottle to produce a gentle fizz that heightens the complex aromas of cooked apple, cinnamon and biscuit.
Food Pairing
King of the Orchard
To be enjoyed in a flute glass to display the fine mousse of minute bubbles that help enhance the flavours. Pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or roast pork and crackling, pork belly, roasted and barbecued chicken and sausages. Also goes well with flavourful East Asian food.
Queen Of The Orchard
Best drunk in a tulip-shaped glass with roast chicken, or roast pork with roast potatoes, grilled asparagus. Great with soft cheeses, such as Brie.
