Description

100% JUICE, 100% SATISFACTION

WE MEAN IT – LOVE THEM OR WE’LL REPLACE THEM!*

*Terms & Conditions apply

All the products you’ll find on the Cider Is Wine website are made according to globally accepted grape winemaking rules and regulations: from 100% fruit using no concentrates.

This is very different from mass market ciders, perries and fruit wines where no international regulations apply: here in the UK you can call a drink ‘cider’ or ‘perry’ if it contains just 35% apple or pear juice (even less for fruit wines), all of which can come from concentrate. So, in a word, ‘anonymised’.

Our products are redolent of their terroir, vintage, the fruit used and the skill and passion of the maker – wines by any other name. They cover every hue and taste profile, from the driest of the dry to the sweetest of the sweet, and every point between.

You’ll find they match with a wide range of different foods and cuisines, from the most delicate of fish and vegetarian dishes, to those that are spicy and full flavoured. You can look at the Cider Is Wine Food Matching Wheel to see what we mean.

Look for the Cider Is Wine hologram on every bottle – your guarantee of 100% juice and no concentrates: you really have nothing to lose – and a whole world of taste and satisfaction to explore!

*We’re proud of what we do and the products we sell and have every confidence that each will surprise and delight. So much so that we’ll replace any of these products in this offer if they don’t meet your expectations by giving you a voucher to buy something else from us to the same cost of the original product(s) purchased.

Brännland Iscider 2021

Sweetness and body are hallmarks of Brännland ice ciders. Concentrated using the naturally occurring cold climate in Northern Sweden, the spring season fermentations were soft and harmonious.

The Newt Signature Blend Cyder 2020

Made from over 22 apple varieties, including those picked from The Newt’s Gore Orchard on their estate. A classic West Country cyder, it’s a true expression of the best that is Somerset’s heritage.

King of the Orchard

From an award-winning wine producer, this cider is unadulterated and true to its English roots and heritage. Produced with 100% apples, but a wine by any other name, that delivers the orchard’s terroir in the bottle (to use a wine term) using the method most suited to the apple varieties used.

Gospel Green Rosé 2017

A really innovative cider made from a blend of 20% cooking and  80% dessert apples with a dosage of Pinot Noir. Cellar-aged for a minimum of 12 months, this cider uses the same production technique as Champagne – indeed, Gospel Green is the only cidermaker whose ciders are analysed by the IOC in Epernay, in Champagne – and it very much reflects the Gospel Green house style of finesse and subtlety.

Riestra Sparkling Brut Nature (Espumosa Brut Nature) 2020

The base cider is created through meticulous selection, starting with the best quality apples, then, after pressing and an initial fermentation, the best ciders to make this Sparkling Brut Nature are transferred into bottles, cider yeasts are added to initiate a secondary in-bottle fermentation.

The bottles are left to settle for a minimum of 8 months, resulting in a minimum pressure of 6 atmospheres before carefully disgorging.

Blue Aurora Blueberry Ice Wine

takes 2 kilos of pure Lutton Farm blueberries to make one 37.5cl bottle of Blue Aurora ice wine. Picked, frozen and pressed hard from frozen, then fermented in a stainless steel tank for around 4 weeks. After fermentation the wine is racked, filtered and bottled.

Tasting Notes

Brännland Iscider 2021

Appearance: light golden, brilliant clarity. Nose: raspberries, wet stone in spring rain, peach and rose blossom. Palate: glossy soft viscosity, juicy ripe strawberry, watermelon, black cherry and a light finish with touches of honey.

The Newt Signature Blend Cyder 2020

Citrus-driven and well balanced. Crystal clear amber gold. Bittersweet with hints of smoke.

King of the Orchard

Made from 75% Dabinett and 25% Spartan apples fermented and matured in bourbon barrels and Burgundian French oak and then put into bottle unfiltered for a secondary fermentation. After ageing on the lees the cider is riddled and disgorged with no dosage added before closing with cork and wine which maintains its overall dry characteristics with a bourbon and cooked apple aroma and taste.

Gospel Green Rosé 2017

The dosage of Pinot Noir creates aromatics of wild strawberry and hedgerow berries with a hint of floral rosehip. A delicate sparkling rosé cider with a touch of baked apple and a smooth, rounded finish.

Riestra Sparkling Brut Nature (Espumosa Brut Nature) 2020

The result of  a scrupulous selection of ciders, golden yellow in colour, strongly aromatic, tasty and fresh, with hints of pear and banana both on the nose and the palate, together with sweet mingàn apple notes.

Blue Aurora Blueberry Ice Wine

Dark berries and red fruits nose with a delicate hint of candied violet and rose petal. The palate is velvety smooth and devilishly pure, with ripe berry notes reminiscent of kirsch or blueberry jam. A refreshing acidity lifts the sweet finish.

Food Pairing

Brännland Iscider 2021

Traditional dessert wine territory: cheese, foie gras, crème brûlée, tarte tatin – but also a good match with savoury food where the refreshing high acidity of the ice cider matches.

The Newt Signature Blend Cyder 2020

Roast pork with lots of crackling, home-made flaky pastry sausage rolls, Classic ploughman’s lunch with a slice of pork pie and apple chutney.

King of the Orchard

To be enjoyed in a flute glass to display the fine mousse of minute bubbles that help enhance the flavours. Pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or roast pork and crackling, pork belly, roasted and barbecued chicken and sausages. Also goes well with flavourful East Asian food.

Gospel Green Rosé 2017

Goes just as well with both fish and duck as much as with red fruits and desserts.

Riestra Sparkling Brut Nature (Espumosa Brut Nature) 2020

Poultry and white meat… Seafood and pasta… Cheeses and desserts.

Blue Aurora Blueberry Ice Wine

Serve lightly chilled. Pairs perfectly with cheese boards, or alongside a rich chocolate dessert, or enjoy added to sparkling wine as an aperitif, or simply on its own as a fantastic digestif.
