Cider from England (Berkshire)
This family business makes 100% apple juice ciders – just like winemakers make wines – using local apples from around the small hamlet of Tutts Clump, West Berkshire.
The company spends lots of time educating anyone who cares to listen about the difference in taste between so-called ‘factory ciders’, which can be processed to death, or consist only of concentrate, so ending up as 70% water packed with sugar, colourings, flavourings, plus a host of other things, as against their 100% freshly-pressed, minimally-processed, gluten-free apple content ciders with no added sugar or flavourings.
The company’s has a number of 100% apple or pear ciders and perries in its range, running from super dry, to medium / dry, to sweet, and from single varietal ciders, or from a number of combinations of eating, cooking and crab apples.
